Best film to win Best Picture at the Oscars? |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-17-07 11:22 AM by Orrex
Since there's always a contingent of Loungers who can be relied upon to hate any movie that takes the Best Picture Oscar, what are some of the films thus awarded that actually meet with the Lounge's approval?
on edit: Let's leave out the various Godfathers, shall we? Too predictable...

1. I'm not sure I've entirely agreed with any Best Picture winner... |

Though I think the Oscars are a farce anyway, so I might be biased.

2. Of the ones that won it, I would choose "All About Eve," "Casablanca," "From Here to Eternity" and |
|
"The Apartment" and "Lawrence of Arabia" - all five are high-quality films that did deserve to win Best Picture.
