What little things bring you great joy?

I'll start:

Going into the video store and immediately finding something that you really want.

Timing the beer in the freezer perfectly, so it's just started to freeze over and is at its coldest possible temperature before turning into a beer slushy.

So far my weekend is off to a most excellent start.

1. Wikipedia-ing things.

I can Wiki my way out of a paper bag, I'm so damned proficient. :P

Correctly identifying a song--by title, artist, year, original album--within seconds of beginning to hear it. Makes me feel like a music nerd. :thumbsup:

Getting unexpected e-mail from a friend, or even getting any non-spam e-mail at all.

Finding something I'd thought I'd lost.

2. Figuring out how to load songs on my cellphone

Autumn days in Michigan when the leaves are in full color.

Waking up on a cold morning and realizing it's Saturday and I don't have to get up for work.

The way my dog Candace jumps on me after my partner gets into bed every night, like she is making sure he knows that I'm hers.

Talking to my niece and nephews in Arizona on the phone.

3. Joy

4. Hearing a great song, finding out what it is, then realizing I already have it on a record album.

My favorite day of the year is when the Florida heat finally breaks and I can turn the energy sucking machine off.

12. rain, watching a bird or squirrel or rabbit, flowers, smiles, a cuppa on a rainy day with a book,

watching prominent republicans go down in flames because of a gay sex scandal, that sort of stuff.
