Beer spill shorts out Iron Maiden concert

Iron Maiden offered its sympathy to fans whose concert experience was ruined by a beer over the weekend. Iron Maiden manager Ron Smallwood said on the band's Web site "some idiot" on the mezzanine of their show in New York "thought it was a good idea to chuck his beer into the air rather than down his throat."

I'm surprised this doesn't happen more actually. On the other hand, I'm amazed that FOH (front of the house) mixing boards aren't more robust. They commonly have to be set up outside under all kinds of conditions. Seems like it would be easy enough to make them waterproof.

I myself once spilled a beer into one of my keyboards during soundcheck. Luckily, I had a back-up.
