Can anybody suggest a decent but reasonably priced hotel in NYC? |

I have no idea what area to look in, I mean I'm from California and I've never been any farther Northeast than Ohio. :shrug:
I don't need anything fancy, but my searches online haven't come up with anything promising at all.
Suburbs and outskirts are fine, we'll have a car.

BTW, if that's your question about right turns on red in CA, it's "yes unless a sign or oncoming traffic says otherwise."

Brooklyn. Find a place near the subway. You don't want to be driving in Manhattan.
Try www.nyc.com/hotels The Upper West Side, West 70th -80ish is nice since it's near the museums and Central Park.
