Has anyone else seen the movie American Pop...
It's an animated movie from the early 80's and is really a god movie about music in the century leading up to 1980...

It's cool...

Ralph Baski, the animator behind Fritz the Cat and Cool World, is very stylized and, at least in American Pop, makes the whole thing come alive...

The ending is corny, pun intended for those who have seen the flik, but the historical perspective on music as told by the first three generation of Russian Jews, is spot on good...

2. I saw that movie!
I remember really liking it, but it's been so long since I've seen it I should watch it again.

I do remember that the animation in it was very good.

I would definitely rec this movie to see.

3. Yes I have years ago.
Ralph Bakshi has an unusual style. He uses live action footage, then traces over it for the animation. He also did an animated Lord Of The Rings.

And he has a website www.ralphbakshi.com and some of the films have free trailers to watch; American Pop does.

4. I saw it about ten years ago
I thought it was really good ... at the time I didn't realize it had been made way back in the early 80s--I'd thought it was much more recent.

7. At a midnight movie with a whole bunch of hippies smoking pot...
It was great fun...

But I really enjoyed it when I saw it about fifteen years ago on Cinemax...

I think I'm gonna buy it so that I have it around...
