Good to see Charlize Theron and Sean Penn get Golden Globes |
|
I really felt they had the Best Actor and Actress performances that I have watched this year.
Clint Eastwood was right, Penn is so good he often gets overlooked because you just expect him to be great. I think Benicio Del Toro is getting to be like that too. Gary Oldman. I whole slew of actors are like that. I always have felt Nic Cage is a bit overrated, though. He overacts a lot. Very good in several roles, I don't mean to discount his abilities, but sometimes he goes too far and gets too corny. Sean Penn is a great one, I hope he wins an Oscar.
I thought Theron was unbelievable in "Monster." Awesome performance in a great movie. Look for Scarlett Johanssen to become a big time industry favorite during her career. She's a good little actress.

I really felt it was in the bag for Sean and Tim - they were fabulous and the foreign press does not like Bush, so to give two peace activists the award was not surprising. I was delighted for the both of them.

2. Jeffrey Wright's performance in Angels in America |

was also incredible (what did he play - 200 different characters, all flawlessly?), so I'm glad he was honored.
