is there any free software that can do a performance check on a pc and identify problems? |
|
here's the deal -
i bought two identical laptops the other day from circuit city. i set both laptops up and they seemed to run at the same speed. then, i had best buy do their $29 service where they supposedly clean the registry and remove MS vista resident programs that are unnecessary resource hogs and they supposedly do some other customization that streamlines the system performance. well, it just so happens that the laptop that got this service is performing a bit slower than the one that did not. i displayed the vista system meter on both machines and the one that was supposedly streamlined is using 9% more memory.
what happened?
so, does anyone know of any free software i could download and run on both machines so i could compare performance details between them and possibly identify the performance bottlenecks on the slower machine?
