2. I read somewhere that stress prevents belly fat from burning

and encourages it to deposit there if you eat more calories than you burn. When I was sick with anorexia, I kept getting a worse hip to waist ratio as I lost weight because it seemed to come off every area except my waist. It was not until I was dangerously underweight that my belly fat disappeared. There was a point that I looked at myself in a bikini and cried because I was too fat to wear it, evidenced by my fat stomach. For a moment though, I wondered whether my highly visible rib and collar bones were attractive either.
