The manager from hell has left the building

I have not been able to post to DU as much as I would have liked for the past six months because a fellow manager where I work has made my life a living hell. For the past year she has been incompetent, but the last six months she took it up a notch and decided to combine absenteeism with vindictiveness and incompetence. It looks like it will take a while to clean up the mess she left behind, but what a relief. I finally have the help I need to ensure I no longer have to pick up the balls she dropped. She took off abruptly about one day before senior management and the rest of her peers arrived with pitchforks and flaming torches to drive her out.

Have you ever experienced someone who did the following?

*Permanently forwarded her voice mail messages to someone else's voice mail so they had to deal with all of her angry clients
*Worked an average of less than 20 hours a week for the past six months
*Passed off my department's procedure book as her own instead of writing her own just to fool upper management into thinking she completed a major assignment
*Compromised her password so people could log her into the instant messaging system so it appeared she was at work when she was not
*Offered people jobs that did not exist to pressure management into creating the positions she wanted but didn't really need
*Refused any advice or help
*Only attended meetings where her boss was present and blew off the rest
*Blamed everyone in the world but herself
*Lied about practically everything work related under the sun

For the life of me I will never understand how someone can spend years working their way into middle management and then when they finally get there putting in more effort into fucking things up and abusing what little authority they have instead of trying to do the job they were hired to do.

I have vented a little and feel better for having done so.

Our boss works half way across the country so I suppose she figured she had free reign.
