Interstate 10 clear after chicken truck rollover

A truckload of frozen chicken spilled all over Interstate 10 blocked
westbound traffic southeast of Tucson Thursday morning.

The melting birds backed up traffic for about six miles, said
Officer Carmen Figueroa, a Department of Public Safety spokeswoman.

A westbound semi tractor-trailer hauling the chickens rolled about 4 a.m.
near the Mountain View interchange, which leads to the Sonoita Highway,
and the frozen fowl tumbled all over I-10.

No one was injured in the rollover. The Arizona Department of Transportation
brought in heavy equipment to scoop up the chicken,
which then had to be hauled to the dump, Figueroa said.
