The price of gas is killing me. |
|
I have a propane tank and just had it filled today. My tank has a 100-gallon capacity. I was down to 30% and had it filled in case the temperature got really cold. I can stand the cold, but I have to keep it warm inside because of my dog and my bird. Plus, if goes into the teens, my pipes will freeze.
So anyway, the price per gallon was $1.71 and then there was a sales tax of $7.02. I just finished paying off the last gas bill of $143.00. Between the cost of putting gas in my car (of which the price right now in Georgia is $1.51 per gallon) and then the gas for heating and cooking, I will be working just to pay the gas and oil companies.

We used 250 gallons of heating oil in 34 days, for a grand total of $360. This is our first winter in this house and we had no idea how inefficient the furnace really is. During our 10 day cold spell, the furnace struggled to keep the house at 65 degrees. We had it set 10 degrees higher.
I'm hoping this load of oil lasts until spring.

4. I'm sorry about your situation................ |

but believe it or not, you don't have it as bad as most. Gasoline in most places I've been lately is well over $1.65 a gallon with fuel oil and natural gas higher as well. I know that doesn't ease your situation any, but it could be worse. They blame the prices on shortages. Gosh, who could have ever known that it would get cold in the winter? Plus Bush is "replenishing the strategic oil supply" :eyes: OPEC is pissed about the value of the dollar so they've cut production.........add it all up and you've got the perfect petroleum storm. It's only going to get worse this summer, they're predicting gasoline will go over $3.00 a gallon. Happy motoring!

for gas for my car yesterday. $1.75!? WTF? And, I filled the propane tank to 60% capacity a month ago and it cost me $360! My electric bill is $200 a month! How do people with no jobs do it? My heart goes out to all of them. I work full time and my entire check goes to bills. It's a nightmare.

I have oil heat and my last months bill totaled $144. Gas around here is topping $1.60/gal.
Hopfully the cost of heating homes and filling the gas tank is hitting everyone including the undecided voters. If fuel prices will be the cost of getting the jackass out of the White House I am more than willing to pay it.

Sound preposterous? Take a look at the energy plan proposed by a conservative Republican accountant on EVWorld.Com. http://www.evworld.com/view.cfm?section=article&storyid=634
