3. Got Fired Once Yearsssssss Ago For Punching The Bosses Son Right In The Head. Was Worth It Though. |
|
I worked for an office furniture installation company, which anyone who has done the same will vouch is one of the most stressful and laborious jobs there is.
Well this punk thought he could just do nothing while we all worked our asses off, cause he was the bosses son.
Well one day, while busting my ass unloading the truck in the morning at the job site, the little punk was just standin there smokin a cig and not lifting a finger, though it was him and my job to do so. When he gave me lip when I told him to get off his ass, I lunged at him and popped him right in the fucking mouth, droppin him instantly to the floor.
Funny part was, his father actually kinda gave me kudos for it and said it's about time someone did it, but that regardless it would still be too awkward having me stay there.
Wasn't a big loss though. 2 Days later I was making 50% more salary at an installation company 2 towns over.

4. does volunteering for a down-size count as a firing? |
|
I did that. I also got fired from a retail job because I couldn't work the hours they wanted me to work (all nights and weekends) WTF? I was glad to be fired.

5. I've been laid off twice |
|
does that count?
If I weren't made of stronger stuff, I'd begin to think it was me instead of this hedonistic economy.

7. Yeah, from a temp agency in Sac |
|
Adecco? I think the temp agency was...a few of my friends were working for this envelope stuffing sweat shop in downtown Sac...we didn't last a whole day, and they fired us...for get this....talking to much.
When we started this particular job, we were told that we had to do 400 enevelopes an hour...my bud Angel did just over 1,000 per hour, my bud Ryan did about 800, and I did about 700....well above the average....and we talked, to make the time go by...we weren't loud, or obnoxious, but the boss lady kept telling us to be quiet, and we...refused too, so we got canned, and Adecco canned us the next day....
But, we got on with Interim(now, Spherion I think), and we got better jobs through them....:D

8. Never. But I have fired people |
|
I have fired three people, but at least ten others would say I made them quit. People who think they should be issued a paycheck without working or who do not give minimal effort do not fare so well with me.

My last job I thought I was going to go off in a meeting and hurt my boss or someone above her but was able to find my new better job first while still being able to hold in the seething, bubbling rage, right beneath the surface, ready to blow up at the slightest drop of a pin at the wrong second.
