Top Chef - WTF!!!!????!!!! **SPOILERS** |
|
What were the judges fricking thinking when they sent Tre home. Yes, he had some bad dishes in his restauarnt menu but geez, he did over 50% of that menu whereas CJ and Casey hardly did a thing. And let's not forget about Casey's onion cutting skills. Hell I could have cut those 5 onions fasters and I both hate cutting onions plus I hate knives
I think Casey should have been sent home over Tre. Well personally I think it's either Sara or Howie but hopefully that'll be next week

1. have you read any of the blogs at Bravotv.com? |
|
The judges spell things out there.
I forget which judge wrote this in their blog, but they said it was a 2 hour judges table.

2. I agree Casey should have gone home, though I think Tre would be second place. |
|
Sara and Howie have been pretty lousy in previous episodes, but they did fine Wednesday.

3. Bourdain's blog at bravotv really lays it out, |
|
He states that yep, if you're looking for somebody to pay top $$ to run your restaurant Tre is your chef, but that's not how they have to judge things. It really does come down to a night by night contest.
By agreeing to be executive chef Tre took the biggest chance, and paid the biggest price for failure.
Until recently I'd kinda been pulling for CJ, but when questioned he rolled over on Tre; I know it's a competition, and where nice guys finish and all, but that was a bit weasel-y in my opinion.

4. I'd have booted Brian. |
|
He didn't even contribute a dish. Even Big Gay Casey on the other side contributed a dish AND still handled front-of-the-house duties.
I started out liking CJ--and still do--but I think there's a reason he's a personal chef and not a chef in a restaurant. I think he's a tad lazy (that might be hard, though; he may just not like the crazy pace of a restaurant kitchen).
Chef Tom notes in his blog that Casey's knife was dull, and that slowed her down. She's a really talented chef, so I hope she's around longer.

5. If her knife was dull shouldn't there have been a do-over |
|
Although having Stephen from season #1 do your whine, whoops I meant wine wasn't exactly an impressive bonus for your team. If anything, I think Stephen annoys the hell out of you from giving you way too much detail about the wines. And I don't think the wines made any difference in the overall outcome of the challenge.

Casey said that dicing onions wasn't "brain science" uh it is brain surgery or rocket science.
That was about all I saw on Tivo-my wife told me that Trey was gone and that the Latino woman (name?) got her team through it by just making command decisions and walking away--problem solved DO IT!
Nice shot of Casey in the bikini at the beginning !!
