NC is mostly blue (our state gov is almost entirely Dem), and sex toys are perfectly legal here...

Also, Southern gun laws are no different than the West, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and most of the North and Northeast. Until recently, they used to be a bit stricter, due to remnants of Jim Crow era restrictions aimed at discouraging gun ownership among nonwhites.

it's my understanding that the difference between a dildo and a vibrator has to do with whether it vibrates. A dildo is for um, insertion, whereas a vibrator is for external stimulation. So it's possible for a vibrator to also be a dildo but a dildo can't be a vibrator.

Wikipedia implies either kind is illegal (unless they're for "educational purposes"), whether or not it appears realistic:

Section 43.21 of the Texas Penal Code which, in part, prohibits the sale or promotion of ""Obscene device(s)" mean(ing) a device including a dildo or artificial vagina, designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs."

Prosecution under the statute is rare but has occurred on occasion. In Burleson in 2004, for example, Joanne Webb, a mother of three and a former schoolteacher, faced up to a year in prison for selling a vibrator to two undercover police officers posing as a married couple at a private party. She was later acquitted, and the undercover officers were issued reprimands.

In 2007, a lingerie shop in Lubbock was raided and items "deemed to be illegal by the Texas penal code" were confiscated. The clerk on duty at the time was arrested and may have to register as a sex offender.

But at your store, realistic was a no-no, and bullet-shaped was OK?

And vibrating or not made no difference, just the realism?
