woo hoo! going to see Raul Malo perform at The Ark tonight!
I've been waiting for this for MONTHS! I'm taking my mom, sister and husband. We're doing dinner first, then the concert. And since it's not a school night, maybe we can hang out at Connor O'Neills after the show; I hear Raul likes it there!

Went to the U of M for my undergrad and there were good times then. Is the Blind Pig still open?

4. Lucky!
I've seen him many times. Haven't missed a show in years except for this latest tour. Voice of an angel-gives me goose bumps!

5. voice of an angel is right, and goodness--those dimples, that smile, those eyes!
i fell in love with his voice when i saw the Mavericks--they opened for Mary Chapin Carpenter.

i had no idea who the Mavericks were before the show ... fell in love with his voice then, and later when i saw him "up close" in a photo, i realized he's very attractive physically too. even if he is a little "pudgy" at times.

7. I went through a craze when I first heard him about a year ago
He was featured on Don sL-IMUS's circus singing, "Feels like home to me." When I tracked down his album I was shocked that this was a Randy NEWMAN song. Then, on the same CD was another knock-out, "Run to me," which is a BeeGees song from the pre-disco phase.

10. ohmigod, it was a fabulous show!
what an evening! we (me, husband, mom, sister) had dinner at Conor O'Neill's and watched the thunderstorms rolling through. lots of heavy rain, lightning ... there were tornado touchdowns north of here ... the power flickered a couple times but did not go out.

then we went over to the ark, had to stand in line all the way down to the corner and it went around behind us. but it was worth it! the show started about 8:15 and they played until well after 10pm.

besides the enjoying the great performance by Raul, i just generally had a lot of fun too. i was a very happy camper when i went to bed last night.
