It just RAINED!!!!!
First time it has rained in southern middle Tennessee in over a month. We are down by 20 inches for the year. I would have went outside to enjoy it but it was accompanied by severe electrical activity. It rained hard for over an hour, I hope this is the new trend!
Yes, it IS the little things in life that make me happy!

7. As is Michigan...
after a mostly dry summer. It's been really weird the last ten days; we were dry forever, now we get about 8-10 inches of rain in a little over a week. Everything is now sodden. The upside? My grass looks freaking awesome. Green, lush and lovely. :-)

5. you folks are having the summer WE had last yr, down in Texas
we had like 20 inches of rain over a 2 year period and 47 100+ days in a row, with assorted others scattered about the summer.

THIS year we got all the rain we didn't get for the last 2 years.

a good rain is a wonderful thing, esp when you really need it.

6. things got so bad here in Central PA.....
I wrote my weekly newspaper column about it.

http://www.cumberlink.com/articles/2007/08/24/editorial/rich_lewis/lewis62.txt

by the way, it rained for four straight days after this was published. And has rained regularly ever since. The power of journalism....

8. Better get writing for some papers down here in the south / southeast..
Texas and Ohio may have too much but the whole of NC has been put on water restrictions. We can't swim in the lakes now because the water level is too low, a local park that offers paddle boats and "boat rides" is shut down because of water restrictions.

I think we had a little bit of rain this week but nothing really significant.

9. Rain? Is that a myth? Been here in Bakersfield since May, only about 20 drops of rain on car
since I got here. Literally about that many. All in one day.

God I miss Ohio sometimes!

12. My dear Straight Story!
We are coming out of the winter with the lowest rainfall totals ever!

It's not good...

Yes, Ohio is much wetter...and very beautiful as a result!

Hopefully this winter coming up will see our rain and snowfall totals over the top...

:hi:

14. Oh, I know HOW to make it rain
Edited on Sat Aug-25-07 12:00 AM by The Straight Story
Hand Wash and wax the car. The wife did that, and the next day we got those sprinkles and made the car look like hell. Off to wash it again - this time through a drive through wash.

With the amount of smoke and ash we have had we are washing it more often.

Pic from my back yard of the smoke:

We got our rain last night and it was wonderful. It was amazing after this long without rain to get a decent storm. :hi:

16. right on, me three
It happened a couple of days ago finally. I swear it had been about two months, we had one or two drizzles, stupid little rain teasers :eyes: But finally this week, I heard the flowers screaming with joy.

11. YOU ARE SOOOO LUCKY! We haven't had any in Dickson in over a month still!
I saw your rain on the radar tonight. Hoping we would get some of it. As has been our luck this summer, it just edged East of us. We did get a quick shower (amounted to a few big rain drops) last Saturday evening. It didn't do any good, other than to make it humid!
Everything is brown here. After our late hard freeze this Spring, this drought is killing out so many hardwood & evergreen trees here, I wonder what will happen when we get strong winds again.

I am happy for your good fortune, please send us some rain, too!:hi:

15. I wasn't able to see a good radar picture of it.
All my lines of communication are satellite (TV+Internet) so the thunderstorm shut me down. We are much the same down here, the trees are already losing their leaves. We really need several days of soaking rain to even dent the rain deficit. We need a couple of good hurricanes to come ashore in the gulf.
