I need some advice on computer downloads for a game
Specifically, the Sims 2.

There is plenty of user-designed content for The Sims 2, but whenever I download it I never know where to put the files. So, let's say I download some furniture from a Sims fan website. How do I get it into the furniture file directory? I know this is probably a stupid question, but I have never been successful with this. Can anybody help?

1. Hi rockymountaindem...

...you put the downloads in the Sim 2 directory in my documents.
On my computer it's: my documents>EA Games>Sims 2>download. IIRC you have to create the download directory.

2. Okay, so if I do that they'll appear the next time I open the buy menu?
Does it work the same for clothes and hair styles?

3. It should...
...by the way it's downloads not download.

The next time you open the game the load will take a little longer. You may get a screen after it loads mentioning that you have custom content and asking if you want it enabled/disabled.

4. Okay, thanks
I'll see how it goes in a couple of days when I'm on a more reliable connection.

5. Okay, I did everything you said, I got the dialogue box
but when I went into the buy menu to get the bed I downloaded, it wasn't there. I unzipped the file, etc. It all seemed to be there, but not in the buy menu. Any ideas why?

6. I loaded up my game...
...When you choose enable/disable, you have to restart the game. If you exit and then reload, it should appear.
