6. Most Parisians speak English fluently...
Of course, you get much better treatment if you at least attempt to speak the language. "Je voudrais..." is your most basic phrase to learn... "I would like...."

Je voudrais un paquet des cigarettes, les American Spirits, les bleus, s'il vous plait
Je voudrais une biere, s'il vous plait

Etc, etc... :D

15. Attempting to speak French is no problem...
...but attempting to understand it when they reply is something else entirely.

17. I didn't have a problem...
9 months of French, and I spent a delightful 3.5 weeks there with no problem. In fact, I had French tourists, from other parts of the country, mistake me for a Frenchwoman, often. :)

3. France is Awesome
It is a very beautiful city. The people we encountered were friendly. Nothing negative or hateful was said to us the whole time we were there. I definitely want to go back.

8. If most US cities could only be more Parisian
We might spend our time enjoying life rather than worrying about the afterlife...

9. I was watching fútbol on Telemundo this afternoon
Afterward, they had an episode of "Mr. Bean," dubbed in Spanish.

16. Yo tambien
It was more a novelty than anything else. I watched for about 10 minutes.

That marvelous physical/visual comedy still translates well, though. :D

I wondered, though — ¿Por qué no se llama "Señor Haba"?
