Oh god .... we're going to look at a house.
Michael has been on the moving kick ever since we met. He wants a bigger place (we're in a condo). I'm not too keen on the idea. I love living in West Hollywood. But he wants one of those yard things (I don't do yard work). But this place is actually about $200K cheaper than what we can get out of our place. It would mean a lower mortgage and more space. But the property taxes will be higher. BUT it would offset the assocation fees we pay now. I'll have to case the joint and check out the turf. It will be VERY hard to move my ass out of WeHo.

1. How big is the yard.
A yard is nice, extra space.

Just think of the extra money.

2. I know.
I hope this place is nice. The area is cool. Mayor "Keep in in your pants" Villaragsoa lives there.

Next thing you know, you'll be driving the suburban soccer mom classic minivan. That's what happens when you leave the city life.

10. We're open to different areas.
Silverlake, Los Feliz, Sunset Junction area, Melrose. and of course West Hollywood or the Hollywood area.

He wants a house of maybe a townhouse. I'm more open to moving now. But it's going to have to be near perfection. Which means it would have to be finacially smart. We can get probably close to $700K or maybe higher out of our condo.

I just don't want to add on to my drive to work. But that might be change. I'm applying for a different position in downtown LA. Which means, I could possibly be able to drive and park at a Metro station and take the subway !!!

We're not in any hurry.

27. I've already starting plotting my garden for next year
although I'm passing on composting. My hard is way too small for me to compost.

I never thought I wanted a yard but now I'm excited about it. And it's small enough that I only need a push mower to mow the thing

12. I'm sorry about your cousin Miss Millie.
WeHo's a great place to live. That's why I'm dragging my heals a bit about the move.

But I have to look at what will also make the ol' ball and chain happy. He really wants a yard to putz around in. I'm open to the change. If we could find something in WeHo, I'd be a very happy camper.

14. Not that we can afford.
West Hollywood has a lot of condos. Some wonderful houses, but way out of our price range.

I hate yardwork...and it shows at my place. Space is good though.

21. That's my other half's problem.
He wants a yard, he takes care of the yard.

I'm liking the hammock idea. I'll lay in the hammock, read a book and nap.

26. Isn't WeHo the center of the West Coast gay universe?
It was sort of the same thing with me moving out of Boystown here in Chicago. I really liked the area...but the fucking rent was just astronomical.

Good luck on your move, ronny. Any ideas where you might be going?

28. We are looking at Silverlake right now.
Silverlake is where a lot of the leather bars and more funky rock clubs are. But I'm still a Sunset Strip / Santa Monica Blvd. sort of gal. We'll see.

29. ooh, congrats!
The housing market in this city is WAY out of my league. I'd say if you find the perfect house with the perfect mortgage...go for it!

Otherwise, I'm hearing rumors that the housing prices are going to slowly creep downwards. Though I don't know how much stock I'd put in those rumors.

I've heard Silverlake is lovely. But I'm a huge fan of Los Feliz.
