Am digging the Miami Ink marathon on TLC
been going all day. even knowing that my tattoo guy turned down TLC for the job (first) and knows what pieces of crap the Miami Ink guys are doesn't make me enjoy the show any less.

1. Some tattoo guy told me the samething one night
I thought about getting some tattoos once, I'm not too sure now though now that all you people are getting them. I'd no longer be original.
:)

2. My wife is hoping to get a tattoo soon, not sure how to shop around for that :)
I am new to this area so don't know anyone. I used to live above a tattoo parlor and the guys down there were pretty good and I got to see them work.

Any ideas on what to look for when scoping out a shop?

5. Too far east for my tastes :) I think maybe she will send me first, to test em out
and then go if she likes them

My sister-in-law knows a local guy though who came to her house and did some good work on hers and her hubbies, so maybe I will call her up.

4. I have an artist - don't have the design yet.
I want The Fool from the Tarot cards done in "Day of the Dead" style.

6. Why are the Miami Ink guys "pieces of crap"?
I love Chris Garver's work, and would get a tattoo from him in a second!

7. well, according to the guy who turned down TLC
and mind you he only turned them down because he didn't want his shop to have 'manufactured drama' (his words)....

Ami (sp?) is a lousy artist who manipulated Garver into doing the show so he could be a 'star' (Ami)

Garver apparently is a decent guy who got roped into setting up a shitty shop (People who have been there tell me it is filthy) in order to apease the TV people and create drama where it shouldn't be.

the show is interesting to me but for other reason's than it is to most.
