I just finished watching Becoming Jane. Good flic!

1. It was OK,

a little draggy, very loosely based om known facts but the cinematography was stunning and Anne Hathaway,,, Anne Hathaway

2. I totally feel for the love story. After watching about a dozen Pride and Predjudice

movies in the last decade (even though I loved most of them)..it was a breath of fresh air.

3. I took it as one slant on known facts

and enjoyed it on that basis. Most indications, which aren't many, were that there was some level of flirtation between Jane and Tom, how far that went in the atmosphere of a provincial rectory is now moot.

MacEvoy (sp?) was perfect for his part, the cocky drink and then take a punch city slicker as counterpoint to Auten's surface cool.

And did they bow and curtsey?? LOL

4. I know. I kept thinking how bad my knees would be if we still had to bow and

curtesy like that.

5. Ugh. Anne Hathaway's accent was horrendous.

The story was fine, but Anne Hathaway's English accent was so phony and distracting. I just didn't find her believable in the role and that ruined the movie.

7. Does a crazy imprisoned native bride burn everyone up at the end?

If so, I'll go see it. And if the blind people -stay- fucking blind for a change.

8. Wrong author. That was Jane Eyre by a Bronte sister. I cannot remember which one.
