PicSpam, Part 5: LONDON!
What can I say? I LOVED London. Loved it.

And took nearly 200 pictures to prove it.

PS: I should have taken better notes, I've forgotten what many of the buildings were. So if you happen to know, or if I got something wrong...feel free to enlighten me!

Nearly 200 more HERE: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8EcuGThm1ZsY2¬ag=1

4. You're welcome!
There's one more city left...Amsterdam. But I'm realizing that I must have been sick of taking pictures. I didn't really take many!

2. The first one is The Hague.

The second one is Chartres Cathedral, and the third is one of the Bridge Towers at Busch Gardens.

9. I love London!
Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 04:16 AM by Zenzic
I'm only 2 hours away from that city! Instead of a 6 hour flight to Amsterdam plus a 30 minute flight to London!

I'm going next week.

I've been to London several times already and still haven't seen the Alison Lapper statue (which went up in 2005). Maybe I'll swing on by Trafalgar Square.

Even though London has a rep for being so gosh darn expensive, their West End shows are pretty good deals (I saw Spam-a-lot last year for about 15 quid).

If I could afford it I could make a day trip to London once a month!! :-) I'll have to settle for the 2nd largest city in the UK, Birmingham.

Oh the Lapper statue is in the running in my plans. I've planned to go back to the V&A to look at Tippoo's Tiger:

Which one should I look at! It's such a hard decision!! :-(

12. So. Jealous.
I SO want to go back!

The Alison Lapper statue is pretty cool. I would definitely recommend seeing it at some point.

Honestly, what makes London so expensive is the exchange rate. Paying twice as much for everything is downright painful. Like the $15 meal at Burger King! Otherwise, it seemed like New York City, price-wise. Except for the plays, which, even with the exchange rate, were NOT bad at all. We saw Wicked and Spamalot for less than $100 each. In NYC, that would have been hundreds of dollars.

Anyway, enjoy your trip!

16. That is why...
I buy some things like clothes and toothpaste in the US to take back to the UK. If there's an American product that isn't sold in the UK that my friends like, I get it for them. Some of my friends here recently went to Vegas, and she went shopping here in the UK for clothes for the trip. I said, "How come you didn't wait until Vegas? They're so much cheaper!"

I'll have to ask my mum to get me some things in the US! Thanks for reminding me!

However, there are some quirks of the UK I like (harder driving tests is one! (6 times for me to pass!) I like both countries equally!

21. Thanks!
My friend and I had so much fun playing with our cameras! I did the black and white pics, she figured out how to highlight one color (in this case, red). So some of the credit goes to her!

18. Great pics.
The first one looks like Whitehall, with the Treasury on the left. The second is the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament), specifically the large window in St. Stephen's Entrance. The third is the horrid ugly modern monstrosity of Tower Bridge - excuse me whilst I vomit.

Not a fan of Tower Bridge, eh? I didn't mind it, but then again, I have nothing to compare it to. ;)
