Egads! Utterly incoherent rightwing fuckbag Jesus Crispy letter to the editor
Read this execrable piece of crap:

Joseph of biblical fame was made ruler of Egypt after passing a test of character by fleeing the immoral advances of his employer's wife and then serving well while imprisoned on false charges. His moral choices saved two nations: Egypt from famine, and that of his family, Israel.

In modern times, we keep choosing leaders for high office who fail such tests and then wonder why our nation is in such trouble and can't seem to solve its problems, regardless of which party is in power.

From Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson to Clinton and perhaps others, we've chosen leaders who failed the Joseph test. Now our choices include Giuliani, McCain and maybe Gingrich, politicians known for adultery or — more simply put — violating God's law of chastity. What protection can a nation under God expect from him?

Judge them by their works. Such people tend to get VD of the brain when leading nations. Kennedy and Johnson gave us the Vietnam War. How can such people defend us from our enemies?

Tyranny begins where God leaves off. Neither party will allow a presidential leader who has not compromised his virtue. The more they do, the more they shout from the rooftops that only they can save the world.

Though a sensitive subject for discussion, this issue clearly shows who are patriots or patsies.

While it contains much that is erroneous, and we can certainly discuss the steaming pile of falsities the writer has given us, not to mention the hellacious and utterly ignorant (but typicl for a rightwing Jesus Crispy) grammar - what gets me is the last line - what the hell does patriotism or patsy-ism have to do with anything the jackass said in the letter?

5. The reference to Joseph was accurate as far as the Bible is concerned.
He lost me at "In modern times"...

10. No. Joseph was never made ruler of Egypt.
And his rise up the ranks to Pharaoh's right hand man had nothing to do with his avoidance of sex with Pharaoh's wife - that is, the Biblical text says nothing about him being "rewarded" for virtuous action. He gets the job because Pharaoh sees his worthiness and that God was with Joseph. Joseph then gets reinstated from the jail time he was serving because of the failed affair attempt because he interpreted Pharaoh's dreams and got himself rewarded with second in command.

Never is there mention of Joseph's glory being because he was righteous and avoided sex with Pharaoh's wife.

The jackass who wrote the letter above thinks it's all about sex.

14. Whoops! You're right. I missed the "made Joseph ruler" part.
Yeah, he was Pharoah's right-hand man. The pastor at my wife's right-wing fundy church emphasized the sexual purity of Joseph in ascending to his court position. Guess I have to go back and re-read Genesis. :dunce:

I have an excuse: I'm not a fundamentalist. If this guy is, he should have known about Pharoah, and not Joseph, being ruler of Egypt.

16. And that's part of the Jesus Crispy paradox - as a fundy, he SHOULD know,
and will always proclaim that he does know, but as a fundy, he NEVER WILL know because he'll never really read the Bible, relying instead of what he wishes were true and what his lying pastor tells him.

9. So failing the "Joseph test" makes

one unpatriotic? What?

Somehow he equates infidelity with being a "patsie".

How utterly self righteous of him.
Why is he so obsessed with other people's
sex lives? It's none of his damn business.

I don't see a connection.

15. because surely sexual immorality (or atleast this person's definition of it)
is the measure of a poor leader.

Apparently you can lie, rob people of their votes, their voice, their dissent and still be a good leader as long as you're not banging someone other than your wife.

21. Then there's the fuckwit
who is content to spend his life with his elbow on the ! key. For example:

And not once or twice but many many times it speaks in the Bible that it is WRONG !!!!!!!!!! UnGodly, Sinful !!!!! I don't hate the sinner I pray for the sin !!!!!!! But that is ok......... I have my morals and values in life....something that others (what the article is about) Dont have !!!!! Again Like I said I dont hate the Sinner I hate the SIN !!!!!!!!!! But I know I will be attacked many times over for my opinion on this subject just like last year......its ok. Im one tough woman ! But I will be out of town for awhile so if you dont hear from me that is why!!!!!!!!!

22. LOL! Where is that from?
I've seen stuff like that in our local newspaper.

Thankfully, most LTTE here are by reasoned liberals. We have a few coherent conservatives that make it occasionally, but generally the majority of the few rightwing LTTEs we get are like the OP and like what you just posted - screaming, incoherent, lies-based, grammatically impossible to figure out screeds.

Edited on Mon Aug-27-07 04:19 PM by Rabrrrrrr
but it speaks *very specifically* about the evil of letting a neighbor go hungry about, oh, 400-500 times.

28. It may be ridiculous...
...but you gotta love the fact that every "immoral" candidate the writer cites is a Republican. For once, it looks like Democrats have the monopoly on "respect for marriage" and "family values." (The worst the Republicans could invoke is Hillary, and that only on the fact that she was the victim of infidelity who chose to stick it out and save her marriage -- not exactly "anti-values" behavior, if you ask me.)

And..."Judge them by their works?" THAT is supposed to be a defense of bushyboy?

The more they do, the more they shout from the rooftops that only they can save the world.... and THAT's not a PERFECT description of bushyboy?

HaHaHaHaHaHaHavHaHaHaHaHa...I have to stop, because my cheekbones are sore from laughing so hard.

32. Probably because he heard Rush at some time mention FDR and Ike
within the same paragraph or so of "Clinton" or "Hitlery" or "big government" or something.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with applying critical thought.
