Does anybody watch Army Wives? (possible spoilers) |
|
I started watching it because my roomie's boss reps 2 of the actors.
I figured it would be some sort of BushCo propaganda-dreck. But it wasn't!
The season finale was last night, and I gotta say, I cried like a baby.
Anybody else? Anybody? Bueller?

1. I have never watched it because I made the same assumption you did. |
|
But it's worth checking out, eh?

Unfortunately, last night was the season finale. But I'm assuming they'll have reruns on Lifetime.
It's actually quite the opposite. They touch on a LOT of things that are really relevant. Like PTSD and how the military discourages soldiers from getting help. Also, one of the top brass' kids goes to a protest...and they have to deal with that.
Last night's episode dealt with deployment, and had a few really touching scenes where the soldiers say goodbye.

I was really surprised that I liked it, but it became one of my favorite summer shows.
The scene where Trevor said goodbye to Roxy's kids was SO sad. And the rest of the episode was really good as well.

6. I was really surprised how good the show is |

The last episode was really sad--I was tearing up and I hardly ever get that involved with TV shows.

only watched about the first 3 or 4 episodes, then I got bored with it. Not very good acting and other such pet peeves I had w/ that show.

She set up the character "Lenore" and it was classic. The bitch finally ot what she deserved. That episode was the best of the season.

11. Yes, I've been watching too... |
|
Started because I like a couple of the actresses - Kim Delaney and Catherine Bell - and I grew up an Army brat. My dad served for almost 30 years, and did two tours in Viet Nam. We lived on several Army bases during his service, and I was curious about how they'd portray the life on base. It's pretty accurate, and I agree that the show is definitely not BushCo propaganda. Anxious to see what they'll do next season, and how the bar situation will resolve (trying to be spoiler sensitive!)
