12. Not even a contest.
I'm a Husker fan no matter where I live. ;)

I went to the Husker/USC game last year, and after the way my friend and I were treated by the fans, I will *never* support USC. Ever. The best football game of the entire season last year was when UCLA kicked their ass.

17. Well, the thing is
many of my friends are USC-grads, and they're all fine, upstanding people. So I don't want to generalize to EVERYONE. But.

At the game last year, my friend and I (we're both rather small, unassuming females) were walking around in the tailgate area by the stadium prior to the game. Now, there were nearly equal numbers of USC fans vs. Nebraska fans, so we figured we were safe. We were both wearing Nebraska t-shirts, but nothing too outlandish. Really, we were very nondescript.

So imagine my surprise when a group of guys approaches us, and, in a fairly threatening manner, starts to encircle us, while screaming some really nasty stuff. F-you, F-that, etc. and they were really getting in our faces. I tried to play it off...honestly, at first I thought they were kidding. Yeah no, they weren't. I have no idea what their intentions were or what set them off, because thankfully there were some security guards nearby who stepped in almost immediately ushered them away. One of the guards even stayed near us for a bit, making sure we were ok. It happened pretty fast, but was really scary in retrospect.

Then there was the walk to our seats. I had gotten 2 tickets from a USC faculty member, so we were sitting in the faculty section. I thought that would be pretty safe. I mean, how rowdy can a bunch of professors get? Right? Heh. First of all, we had to walk past the entrance to the student section to get in. A bunch of (presumably) drunk guys were literally fist-fighting anyone who dared walk past them while wearing a Nebraska t-shirt. Thankfully, a group of non-insane USC fans saw this happening and took it upon themselves to escort the Nebraska fans past the fist-throwing lunatics.

Then, there was the game itself. So we're sitting there in the faculty section, surrounded by normal-looking people. I was sitting on an aisle, so there was no one directly next to me, but we started talking to the guy who was sitting next to my friend. He was nice enough, we exchanged some good-natured ribbing. No problem. The guy behind me was there with his kid. We struck up a conversation almost immediately, and we had a great time with them. Even going so far as to give each other high-fives when the opponent scored. But the guys in front of me? Total jackasses. Again with the f-you, f-that, blah blah blah. Every single play, for the entire game, they turned around with the express purpose of giving us shit and trying to piss us off. Real special since there was a kid one row back. Then there was the guy across the aisle and one row down, who actually, on more than one occasion, found it necessary to get up out of his seat and come scream in my face. Mind you, by this time I was in no mood or position to start shit with anybody. I was cheering for the Huskers, but I was also giving high-fives to a little kid when USC scored. I could not have been less imposing.

I have no idea what the deal was. I must have been wearing a sign that said "Please be an asshole. I love that!". I've heard the fans aren't usually that bad. But I have no intention of giving them another chance to prove it.

18. What a bunch of dix!
I'm 6'3, 210 lbs. I wonder if they would've treated me the same way. I doubt it. Alcohol does wonders to some people, doesn't it? Good natured ribbing is to be expected, but that way crosses the line. Now I'm a huge Huskers fan. :toast:

34. No, that's the one I sent, but there's a story
Her GF was taking a haiku class, and one night Lisa was hanging outside the class waiting for her. When her gf came out, just to kind of annoy her, she said, you know I was listening to your class, and I've just written a haiku.

So she starts - boo boo boo boo

and her girlfriend says, That's not a haiku!

And Lisa kept needling her, saying, sure it is, it has the right number of syllables.

Anyway, my gf and I thought it was funny, and haiku or not, every year now when we feel fall approaching, we say it.

Lisa and her gf are no longer together.

26. Is this at Starbucks?
We're about to get a Starbucks. Some friends of mine own a really nice, non-franchise Starbucks-like coffeehouse. Of course, they're worried about the competition, because this town doesn't need two such businesses.

God, I hate chain stores and chain restaurants.

So, I won't be having a Pumpkin Spice Latte any time soon.
