The BlueIris Semi-Nightly Poem Thread, 8/28/07
"August"

August.
The opposing
of peach and sugar,
and the sun inside the afternoon
like the stone inside the fruit.

The ear of corn keeps
its laughter intact, yellow and firm.

The little boys eat
brown bread and delicious moon.

—Frederico Garcia Lorca

3. I don't think I ever enjoyed August quite that much.
It sounds nice. I hope everyone else got to have summers like that. :)

I'm waiting for October. October is a beautiful month.

6. Yet sparse.
I like poems that can be both colorful and concise.

8. I forgot to look up who translated that one, though.
And I feel kinda like an ass 'cause I don't plan to. Sorry, Lounge translators!
