I'm sick...Not for the squeamish |
|
Sunday afternoon, near the end of the show, I started feeling nauseous. I chalked it up to being overly tired since I hadn't slept and ignored it. When I got home I felt really crappy and had severe diarrhea. I ate a little dinner and went to bed. When I woke up Sunday night/Monday morning I felt horrible. I had bad cramps, severe nausea and still had diarrhea. I told Paul that I was going to go to bed early Monday and did just that. I woke up about 3:30 to go to the bathroom and went back to bed. About 4 or so I was still awake and the bed was kind of spinning and I felt awful. I called Paul and asked him if he'd be upset if I called in and he said no, he wouldn't. My diarrhea subsided, at least temporarily later in the evening. Right now I'm still somewhat nauseous and my diarrhea is back, although not as bad as before. My dinner consisted of a small salad and 2 pieces of dry bread. I'm going to try to go to bed early again and see how I feel tonight.

1. Sounds like a tummy bug. |
|
That's what I was told when I had food poisoning in England. A tummy bug sounds much nicer than the symptoms, doesn't it?

I truly feel like I could vomit but hate doing that.
I just want to feel better. I've already missed one day of work. I don't want to make it two. Especially since I'm 3rd shift and there is no one who they can really rely on to fill my spot.

5. have someone go to the pharmacist and get some "paragoric"(sp?)... |
|
liquid. The Pharmacist should know about it, it is made for settling the stomach and intestinal system. You will have to present your license and sign for receiving it. It is not by prescription only, but it's not over the counter either. If you can't get anything else to work, this will. I have never had to take more than 2 doses. It also induces you to sleep. You have to present your license because it has a SMALL amount of opium in it, that's why you are signing. IT WORKS!

6. Why would you eat salad if you have diarrhea? |
|
You should have some soup, dude. It's easier on your stomach, and the fresh veggies could make the diarrhea worse. It sounds like you might have a bug. I've had the same thing before, and it's not fun. Hope you feel better. Remember: Soup. Not fresh veggies. Even if you have veggie soup, that's better than salad. Duckie

7. Don't eat any more salad. |
|
Too hard to digest. If you need to plug up the diarrhea over the counter Imodium is also good. Of course some diarrhea is okay since your body is trying to flush out the bad stuff. Just make sure you are drinking plenty and you need to be sure there is enough hydration that you are peeing several times a day. As they say, this too shall pass...
