The 5 Most Guilty, Most Delectible Pleasures
1 - Slyders from WhiteCastle. These things have no nutritional value, feel like grease - and are OH SO FUCKING GOOD. This is coming from a Californian who has 5 minute access to In-N-Out. I love that place, but OMFG a slyder and those criss-cut fries are just orgasm in food form.

2 - Oreos. I could eat these all day, compulsively. In fact, I would marry an Oreo if I could.

3 - Downing a 6-pack and a XL Combo Pizza. This is above sex - this is so good you swim in the seratonin that day. The more things they throw into the combo the better. And the hoppier beer (IPA) the better.

4 - Central Air in the Summertime. Nuff said.

5 - SF Sourdough with Clover Butter smeared all over it. Fuck, I can't even describe how good this is. It makes me proud to be a Bay Area-ite. It makes me proud to have lived in SF. Fuck, it makes me proud to be a man who can salute to this properly!

15. not really
I mean, I love pesto as much as the next person, but it's never going to be one through five on my list of top five guilty pleasures. Christ on a cracker, if nothing else, Melrose Place should still be number five if numbers one through four are going to be "pesto."

You really need to expand your horizons a bit. Maybe add Ben & Jerry's or Bat at of Hell or even a nice pic of Paris Hilton behind bars to the list, but to just have one thing on your list! I'm shocked AND awed.

I admit that both are sorta firm and plump and sorta defy gravity, but I'm kinda wondering which ones you want to touch. And will you be adding "pinching Rodanthe's cheeks" to your list? If so, will "pinching Rodanthe's cheeks" be above or below "pesto?"

2. Steamed mussels, french fries. The fries need to be made right by double cooking them.

42. Mine:
1. Having someone else wash my hair, either at a salon, or in a shared bath/shower. It's a heavenly feeling.

2. Cuddling on the couch, knowing that tomorrow is a day off for both of us, eating popcorn and Dove ice cream bars, and watching comedy movies. Utter contentment with the Universe.

3. Here's the scenario. It's been a 95 degree scorcher of a day with humidity in the 85% range. All of the sudden, it starts storming around 7:00 pm. The storm front brings in cool, sweet air that feels like heaven. I take a shower to wash off the sweat, and get out to find that the temperature in the house is cool and comfortable, the humidity has dropped nicely, the fan is blowing in the bedroom. I dry off, put on my most comfortable modal PJs, and climb in between cool, clean, fresh sheets. Then it starts raining hard outside again, and I fall asleep feeling more relaxed, soothed, and comfortable than I've been in months, listening to the rain on the roof. *dreamy sigh*

4. Sitting down to pet and play with a large litter of 6-week old kittens, and getting swarmed with furry faces meeping at me to "Pet me! Pet MEEEE! Not him! I was here first! I'll bite your tail!!!"

5. My homemade hot chocolate and peanut butter cup cookies on Christmas morning, with 10 inches of fresh snow outside making the exhausting Christmas "visits" impossible, so I have nothing to do but enjoy the laughter and joy of my kid and ThinkBlue1966 for the whole day.

4) Caracu - a Brazilian type of dark beer

45. Guilty pleasures have to have no redeeming value
So sushi and mushrooms (not the hallucinatory kind) are not on my list, even though they are favorite treats, because I can rationalize how healthy they are.

In no order:

1. French fries

2. Skinny dipping. Preferably in the ocean with a handsome lifeguard. I am *so* lucky I never ended up like that girl on the cover of the paperback version of "Jaws", because I certainly gave the little sharkies plenty of opportunities.

3. Sitting on the deck on a hot summer night with a glass of wine and a good murder mystery. This weekend I'm finishing a Harry Potter binge (never read past #2 until this month), then I've got a murder mystery ready.

4. A back rub that ends with getting my legs pulled - literally. I asked our S.O. if I we could buy a gravity boot rack for our house, and he said no. I guess as long as he's willing to keep pulling my legs, we can do without.

5. Spending a Fall day nude in a warm hot tub with a good book with no one around but the hot-tub-owner's cats.

I just realized two of my favorite things involve nudity AND water. I'm not even going to speculate about that.

47. Okay, sistahfriend, if you're in, so am I!
I am the only person on the planet who's never been skinny dipping. I may have to try it. (Let's just say there are some things humanity should not be subjected to...) Until then, here's my top five.

5. Our bed. We own a Heavenly Bed. We also own Lands' End six-ounce flannel sheets. The combination is sensual and amazing. There is nothing better than crawling into that bed at the end of a long and stressful day, or any day, for that matter.

4. Ben and Jerry's Dublin Mudslide.

3. A bubble bath with a great book in our soaking tub.

2. Daniel's Broiler's garlic mashed potatoes. They don't make them anymore, but I fondly remember them.

1. Our massage therapist is out of the country right now, but a massage from her is probably one of life's greatest treats.

49. Oh, I've only ever gone skinny dipping after dark
and usually after a few beers. Sort of a Darwin Award double-header. But I haven't done it in 25 years, so with age comes SOME sense.

And if you think those Heavenly Beds are great, one of our clients made us stay at the Ritz recently (cheaper than the Marriott in that city) and THOSE beds were the bomb.

Okay, so what's the deal with the Ritz-Carlton bed? Do they let people buy them? (Let's face it, we need a bed for the guest room...) How were the toiletries? So far, my favorite is Hyatt's -- I like the lavender-citrus stuff.

55. Florida and Alabama
My brother in law lives in Florida (near St. Augustine), and I am always amazed at how much warmer the water is down there. Same thing goes for Gulf Shores, Alabama, a great place that I had never heard of until I moved to New Orleans for a few years in the '90s. Warm gulf water, good surf, just south of Mobile.

57. MORE southern style:
Fresh, garden grown tomatoes; sliced generously and on a peice of bread with DUKE's mayo, and liberal salt and pepper. MMMMMm.
Fresh, garden grown watermelons; sliced lengthwise (I want a whole quarter!) lightly salted.
Sweet potato casserole with marshmellows on top
Stamey's/Lexington barbeque sandwitch with lots of cole slaw & A CHEERWINE.

69. Absolutely!
Salt is a flavor enhancer, and when used judiciously on a piece of watermelon the taste is incredible.

Over-salted definitely deserves a :puke: or two :puke: :puke:

Agree sbout central air too...:)

I love White Castle, but what does it for me are cheese Krystals. :9 Very similar, and they're like manna from heaven for me. :bounce: :toast: Hey, what can I say? I'm a Southern girl, and we didn't have White Castles in Atlanta when I was growing up. We had Krystal. :D

Cool, clean sheets in the summer. :D

And a few other things that, mentioned here, would get your thread locked. :P  What can I say? Hedonism rules... :bounce:
