Post a great or compelling first line of a song, then let someone respond with the song title.

31. I can still remember how that music used to make me smile.
Edited on Wed Aug-29-07 10:35 PM by WritingIsMyReligion
And I knew, if I had my chance, that I could make those people dance, and maybe they'd be happy for a while. But February made me shiver, with every paper I delievered; bad news on the doorstep; I couldn't take one more step. I can't remember if I cried when I read about his widowed bride, but something touched me deep inside, the day the music died.

All from memory, too. :D

Don McLean, "American Pie," 1972.

I said "make me feel" instead of "make me smile." But for the rest I was right. Two years ago I could sing the whole song from memory, and I still know most of it, only I get a little messed in the middle.

199. pulled some wiki on that...
Kristoffer "Kris" Kristofferson (born June 22, 1936) is an influential American country music songwriter, singer and actor. He is best known for hits such as "Me and Bobby McGee", "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down", and "Help Me Make It Through the Night". Kristofferson is the sole writer of most of his songs, but he has collaborated with various other figures of the Nashville scene such as Shel Silverstein and Fred Foster.

275. Shut up, Annie, we think you're a nothing, and crazy, too! (Ann Coulter parody)

ANN IS CRAZED
Dedicated to looney right wing columnist Ann "Thrax" Coulter
(Sung to the tune of "Maggie May" by Rod Stewart)
Parody lyrics by Boot

MIDI music: http://bootnewt.hostingzero.com/midi/maggiemay.mid

(instrumental intro)

Shut up, Annie, we think you're a nothing, and crazy, too!
We all remember you are screwy, and a crackpot fool.
All liberals slandered, abused.
But you can't stand to be accused.
Oh, Ann, you're just making up lies,
Like before.
You bitch from the Twilight Zone,
On TV, won't leave us alone.
You're black at heart; a Nazi in a skirt.

You love Dim Son, who's so dim, you lie that Bush is a sage.
You right wing bimbo, you dunce; you just lie 'bout everything.
We laugh at you; you're a joke,
Like Shrub, whom we love to poke.
Oh, Ann, you're just making up lies, like before.
You bitch from the Twilight Zone,
On TV, won't leave us alone.
Attack dog role; you're insane, you just bitch and pout.

Bush's people have a friend; you lend a helping hand.
You're so looney, we've discovered
You worked undercover to throw Clinton out.
We just want to whack your head
When you say you want all liberals dead.
Oh, Annie, you shouldn't have tried, you're a bore.
You bitch from the Twilight Zone,
On TV, won't leave us alone.
You're black at heart, we can't believe the ways you've lied.

(instrumental break)

We oppose right wing collective kooks who prop up Bush the Fool.
Repeal Bush Daddy's coup, and restore our country's rightful rule.
Boot Bush's out-of-control band
Who prey upon our land.
Ann Coulter, we don't want to see... your face.
You love the First Class Fool's monarchy.
You're as blind as that Fool can be.
Though Shrub's not smart, you still love him anyway...

(long instrumental break - next lines sung over break)

Annie... you cadaver... don't show your face...
Annie... telebimbo... stop spreading hate...

(instrumental fade)
