3. Lots of SUV's will be left laying around too
I can't wait to torch one with a "Bush/Cheney '04" or a "Marriage = Man + Woman" bumper sticker on it.

4. Well, disruptions in services are foreseeable.
During that big black out a few years ago, my town was one of the very few around here to have electricity. People were coming for miles around just to eat. No power meant no electric cooking, no refridgeration and no water (!!!). Most around here get water from the City of Cleveland which uses gigantic electric pumps to draw it from Lake Erie. When the grid went down, so did the hydration.

As you may have guessed, the biggest, most pressing problems with any disruption of infrastructure are in the following order:
1. water
2. water
3. water
4. heat in the winter.

Consider the survival rule of "threes." One can survive three minutes without oxygen, three days (or less) without water, three weeks (or less) without food. Warmth, of course, depends on the weather.

7. No need to be scared.
Just keep a few extra gallons on hand for an emergency. Look, if this becomes Road Warrior land, then none of us have a chance. My own planning is for a temporary disruption caused by drought, energy shortage or pandemic.

in the event of a pandemic or some catastrophic event, the amount of food and water one might need could be as much as 2 months worth or longer....
