1. I have 3 pictures on my wall- Sumlin's friend Howlin' Wolf,
David Jo's New York Dolls, and the Rolling Stones!

Thanks for posting.

2. Sweet...
I don't know why it bothers me so much that this guy doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

Howlin Wolf does, sort of... I guess.

But this guy... he inspired a generation of guitarists. Ooooh it makes me so mad. :P

3. I like not sharing greatness with the masses! They can have
Brittney and Paris and American pop culture circa '07.

The bad part is that only a few support the great ones, so they have to scrape by instead of living in a mansion.

6. When I met Sumlin a few years ago, he asked if I knew David Jo...
I guess he assumes all foppish straight guys possibly know one another :)

7. Whoaa, uber jealous my friend!
Why not let me tag along the next time you cross paths with greatness?

David Jo is even luckier than you- must've been a real honor and thrill for him to share the stage with such legends. Sorry DJ, put your harmonica away.

5. I got a hug from Mr Sumlin six years ago...
and didn't wash my back for a week.
He's a genius. The true ELECTRIC guitar pioneer.

9. A national treasure. Clapton refused to do the Chess sessions
with Muddy Waters & Howlin Wolf unless Hubert Sumlin was inlcuded. When the sessions were going on he took Sumlin to his instrument storage place and asked him to chose from any guitar. this story and others are on Sumlin's web site. hubertsumlinblues.com
