14. Actually I was gonna ask my brother...
Edited on Fri Aug-31-07 03:31 AM by DarkTirade
he had the car before I did. It was a hand-me-down. :) But that works too.

This is what she would have looked like brand new, before I got her (only without the sunroof.)

And here's what she looked like right before I got in my accident and she went kaput.

Actually, that's kind of eerie... same racing stripes, same everything... if it wasn't for the fact that my car has never been in a lot like that one with her hood up, I might have thought it was her...

Edited on Thu Aug-30-07 09:47 PM by Opposite Reaction
A fastback (SportsRoof) with the Q-code 351C-CJ and a Toploader fourspeed. I also had three 1973 GTS SportsRoofs and a '73 Ranchero GT.

I don't have any pix of my '68 Cougar scanned. Here's the engine:

Here is my '58 with a 460:

My new(ish) Focus:

My Merc Wagon getting some attention. The VW truck has been sold:

17. Well, the pix are a long time apart.
The side view shows the fenderwell headers for the 352, the engine that was built for the car when it was run in AHRA modified stock class. Those were tri-Y headers built by a guy named Skibstead. I have yet to discover his history. You can see them better here:

The engine in the car now use full length headers that go under the car in the conventional manner. They are a conversion header built by Crites Restoration, a company that specializes in providing headers, engine mounts and crossmembers to shove just about any Ford engine into vintage Ford chassis.

http://www.critesrestoration.com/

They got started by making an excellent kit to turn any '64 Fairlane into a Thunderbolt clone.

The number 8 tube is the real problem. I tried adapting a set of Hooker Supercomps to the chassis, but it was pointless.

Tiiiight.

BTW, the trans for the 352 was built by Art Carr back in 1966. Still workes great. I kept all of the parts I took off and have it stored away "for the next guy".

11. OK, sounds like fun
None of these pics are my own, except for one.

(same color)

(it was light blue, Mrs. Ironflange's. Had a V6 in it - ZOOM!)

(silver 4-door)

I can't find a pic of a 1986 Mercury Marquis wagon, the midsize one. What a crappy car that was.

(a black one, what a great vehicle, drove it for 12 years)

(white, Mrs. Ironflange's car)

(my own shot, flame away!)

(same color, what I drive now)

Here's what Mrs. Ironflange drives:

(same color, sweet car)

Eldest daughter has one of these, a black one:

Man, you sure don't realize how many cars you go through.

1971 Ford Torino:

The tranny dropped out a week and a half after I had it and that (and the fact that I was living a, ahem, extreme rock n roll lifestyle) gave a clue that driving realloy wasn't for me and I never drove again...

16. Mine
1969 Fiat 850 coupe

1963 Austin Healy 3000

1966 Dodge Charger

1968 Triumph Spitfire

Dodge van with the indestructable slant six. It was an old school maintenance van that I put some porthole windows in a roof vent, sofa, and carpeting.

And that gets me half way through college.
