Face or ass, take your pick. That is the only thing I can liken it to. The new floor I installed looks awesome, but ONCE AGAIN I ended up with a weird-ass color on the walls. I really don't want to repaint the whole thing.

1. Ah, "Bitchslap Rose #372"
WE decided to go with "Sunburn Coral #250" in our bathroom.

10. maybe someone at the paint store could help you with that
At the Sherwin Williams store near me the staff is really good at deciphering which tones/tints/whatever they call that shit go with what.

11. try a pale blue with lavender undertones
:hi:

what ever possessed you to keep painting once the color hit the wall?

I have learned (the hard way) to paint a 4x4 patch and let it dry, if it didn't work, take the paint back to the store and have them add more tint to get a better color

it's a pain, but better than repainting the whole darn thing and the cost of more paint

12. I just wanted to get it done.
My towels are sort of periwinkle. Maybe I can work that color in. I'm a little tempted to wait a couple days and then tape it and hand paint stripes.

14. my son's dad
painted my son's bedroom RED.

Bright BLOOD RED.

I commented that I thought that was a bad idea.

I suggested that he paint a portion - a section - maybe even one wall and wait. As he painted, I remarked, "Hon, I'm not sure about this. Why don't you let it dry and let (our son) look at it before you finish it . . . )

But nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..................

He painted the whole damn thing.

Our son took one look and I could see the stricken look on his face. "Oh sh*t.

They tried to pretend that they LIKED IT! But they just couldn't do it.

It made you nauseated to go in the room.

He repainted it the next day (except one wall) a nice beige.

Except by that time he was totally pissed that:

A) I was right;

B) He was having to paint it AGAIN.

and

C) I was right.

The pisser - he was so "tired of painting" and so pissed off - that he did a completely CRAPPY job of it and left it unfinished around the edges. That was a year ago. (sigh)

Of course he left the familiy room in the same condition - I think by that point he just didn't want to be here anymore.

One of these days I'm going to get someone to move the furniture and finish it myself.

5. Simple solution- just crochet one of these toilet paper cozies in the same
color, then place it on the top of the toilet tank. Voila! You've got a lively matching item.

16. Ouch. I've done that before.
Now I do the paint a small patch first thing - unless it's just a neutral beige or something.

You might want to give it a wekk, it could grow on you.

20. Just coordinate with some pictures on the walls and call it good
Edited on Sat Sep-01-07 12:10 PM by carly denise pt deux
or go buy a couple of rolls of wallpaper border, some border paste and a brush, slap up a coordinating border on the top of the wall by the ceiling

you will get used to it LOL

I have had this happen to me so many times it isn't funny.....I spend a week picking out the perfect paint color, I even buy little sample pots of it, paint the wall, paint the whole room and it doesn't look right, so I fill the walls with pretty pictures and stuff, then it's not so bad.

21. we painted the kitchen Jalapeno red
We're not quite done yet. The floor was just installed last week. We still have to replace the back splash and install these delft tiles we brought home from Holland and the chair rail. The red looks nice.

is a Dupont Tavas Travertine like this. Its a laminate that looks like a ceramic tile. It has a 30 year guarantee. Now we're looking at the bathroom.
