Question about automatic monthly SS payment: |
|
Ok, I do my parents' finances and I just checked the balance, and for some odd reason, my Dad's SS payment is $100 lower than normal. I've been doing this for years, and have never seen this happen before.
Any ideas as to why this might be the case?
Thanks! :hi:

1. Did he recently become eligible for Medicare? They take the |
|
payment out of the check before he gets it.

3. That could be it, I think the age for Medicare is 65. But if this is what |
|
happened, he should have been made aware of the deduction at least a couple of months ago. I think when you become eligible for Medicare, they send you stuff to look at, and you have to choose your plan and fill out forms and etc. Maybe check with your Dad to see if this happened?
