When I was a young head, Iron Butterfly was a local band (San Fernando valley, circa 1964-5)who hit it big. Their initial success allowed them to buy new homes in the 60's. The drummer bought one in my neighborhood so we became dedicated groupies. They rehearsed and toured relentlessly and we attended with the same enthusiasm. By the time In A Gadda Da Vida came along we were like so over them....
