87. I have to go with Alien
As much as I love Blade Runner, it's not much more than a futuristic dystopian western. I do love the look and effects.

Alien, on the other hand, introduces the classic isolation theme with totally alien beings - twice - ! Scott, however, did rip off his own landing sequence graphics from Alien when the spinner is taking off in Blade Runner, just reversed.

Of course another argument is whether Blade Runner was true enough to the source to really be based on a short story by PKD

88. Great analysis of the two movies....
And I come to the same conclusion.

In short(I'm going to bed now),Alien is the best movie

that Ridley Scott ever directed.

But Blade Runner is really a masterpiece.

However for that movie most of the credit goes

to Philip K. Dick.A Great Writer.

Edited on Mon Sep-03-07 10:19 AM by Rob H.
It's a short clip of the animation that's on the other side of the pages of Danny's notebook. It got cut from the movie, but it's funny, too.

One my favorite lines was Danny's "By the power of Greyskull!" :D

Edit: found "Flick Book" on youtube if you've already sent the DVD back: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJi5W4tc4jU.

Maude Lebowski: What do you do for recreation?
The Dude: Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

But my favorite quote:"I’ll suck your cock for a thousand dollars "

Whoa! After that I fell in love with Tara Reid...And then she had that horrible boob job! :(

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/bagdad_cafe/

A quirky little movie about the unlikely friendship that grows between an obese German tourist, and her discombobulated African-American landlady. My sister and I probably own the only two DVDs made of this movie.

We usually watch it half a dozen times whenever we get together, which is only every few years.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch - Lost count of the number of times I've seen it. Listened to the soundtrack at least three times as many times as I've seen the movie, if only because I don't own my own copy of the movie.

Original Star Wars trilogy - Lost count. Watched it on a regular basis throughout my entire childhood and teen years.

Stargate - Lost count. Bastards stole my idea, but still a cool movie. :)

Real Genius - The best bad 80s movie ever. Need to get a copy, only seen it somewhere in the 8 to 12 times range... :)

Short Circuit - Gotta count 1 and 2 in here, don't think I've seen either one alone enough times to count as a cult movie, but the two together make the second best bad 80s movie. :)

Back to the Future Trilogy - Best non-bad 80s movies.

The Goonies - The second best non-bad 80s movie after the Back to the Future trilogy.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit - Lost count of the number of times I've seen this movie, and I've noticed just about every single mistake and whatnot in there. Despite the fact that it was technically made in the 80s, this isn't really an '80's movie'. It's a timeless movie.

Lord of the Rings trilogy - Not the short versions, the long ones. Yeah, I watch 'em all the way through. Fairly often. And I still get misty-eyed every time I hear 'Into the West' and the riders of Rohan theme. I know. I'm a geek.

If I had my own copy of Rocky Horror, I probably would have seen it enough to qualify that as one of my cult movies, but I've only seen it 8 or 9 times, not 10. :)
