Hey! I'll ask the hipsters in the lounge!
I was driving in my part of the world this moring, and I saw graffiti on a bridge. In this part of the world graffiti is not tolerated. It's removed within hours. Even from freeway walls. This graffiti was the following : a daisy, "Give Peace a Chance" another two daisies, and "Love is the answer"

My question: is this still graffiti? I wouldn't mind if they left this message alone.

2. yes imo it is graffiti...graffiti has a wonderful opportunity to be art sadly however...
not all so-called 'taggers' are considered artists; in the example you've indicated they should have prevailed http://www.graffiti.org

4. Don't get me wrong; I appreciate graffiti art
I have a huge reference book on the subject (wife aspires to master the genre) and have attended shows. Tagging otoh, is just obnoxious. I suppose this could be considered performance art.
Except no one is naked. So there's that.

just the other day, low, behond some cars in the wee hours so no one could see them; plus it's a goofy little thing i am sure only means something to them - stupid

5. That would be cool
if that was the only message you saw on walls . I could definitely get behind that as a movement.

7. Oh, that sounds beautiful.
The most beautiful art I ever saw under a bridge was a spray-paiting of two doves facing each other, holding a heart between their beaks.
:loveya:
