My head hurts from beating it against a wall.
I made the mistake of trying to talk to coworkers about real issues rather than the usual TV shows, sports, gossip crap.
They are still convinced walmart is a great place to shop, the media is mostly liberal, bush is a true hero & the war in Iraq is going well. Aaaarrrrrrrgggggggg!!!!!
How can these people be so smart at their jobs & so stupid when it comes to the real world.
Thank you for allowing me to vent. It has been a crappy day all around.

2. There are different kinds of 'smart.'
You're the enlightened kind.

3. Thank you.
I was trying to explain why I won't shop at walmart and all they could say is that the cereal is cheaper. They didn't care about anything else. I have a few liberal coworkers, but most of them are just blind to what is going on. "I have a job, I can by cheap food and cheap plastic crap made overseas so I am happy."

4. With a nation working for the government until mid-summer
just to meet their tax debt, and encountering difficulty and bureaucracy at every corner in their personal lives (insurance, debt, communication), a lot of people are just too chewed up and spit out by the state of American life to focus on confusing issues that will only depress them further. I don't think this makes you a de facto repuke like the co-workers you're subjected to, just someone who, for whatever reason, has more trouble keeping their head above water than others.

Having said that, your dilemma is one I've experienced so much in my life that I finally just chose a (lower-paying) job that allowed me to be alone all day. There are only so many times you can say "No, never watched Survivor. Why? Well,..." or "No, I'm not really into Celine Dion very much...she did have one song that was kinda okay..." and I hit my limit for this life.

6. I've said this EXACT thing several times last week alone!
I work in the telecom corridor. What a bunch of fucking SHEEP! They don't care about anyone but themselves, their adorable sheep-to-be, their SUVs, and making sure that their taxes don't go up!

I hate my job, but I guess I'm lucky I'm still gainfully employed, so I just shut my door and keep my mouth shut.

But I feel for you Rainbow! Sucks doesn't it?
