I did have a nice trip planned but it got canceled, so instead I'm here where I live posting on DU and watching a movie.

The Madres beat the Dodgers. Worse, I had to listen to that incredible assbucket Ted Leitner describe the game. Leitner is well-known in the San Diego area as the guy who'll hawk any product, and that carries over into his broadcasting; he can't even say "There's a ground ball to short" without sounding like he's gonna follow it with "For only $19.95!"

I've also had it up to here with jokes about "stance" and "foot taps" and anything at all to do with bathroom stalls.

I'm taking a weekend sailing course (Basic Coastal Cruising) that I've really been looking forward to, but feel very under-prepared for...I did not do enough studying in advance. It was a chunk of $$, and I fear I won't be able to take full advantage of, nor pass my exam. Yikes!!

Aside from this 72-hr anxiety though, I gotta say that life otherwise is good. :) Hoping you all have a terrific weekend!

I've had a bystander's passion for it for a long time, and this summer decided to quit wishing and start learning. The whole thing fascinates me, but the coursework gets pretty intense, especially since there's no overlap in my otherwise landlubbing life/career.
All the same, I'm glad to have the opportunity to accumulate the learning and "credentials" so that I can weave this into my life in the future....
