A few years back, they ran a survey in a men's magazine about what type of breast they would prefer, and the choices were: a) big, firm & fake; b) big, real and sagging; or c) small & perky.

small & perky ended up edging out big & fake, with big, real sagging ones coming in third.

15. I don't get it either, my best friend had hers done a bit over a year ago

She is a beautiful 51 year old, slim trim and looks like she in her early 30's. She went from like an A which fit her frame perfectly to maybe a D? (Dunno, she's married so I've only seen the originals in the flesh and that was 28 years ago.) Her new huge boobs do not fit at all with her body type and it made her age 10 years, IMHO.(I have before and after clothed pics. If anyone is interested in seeing them you can PM me.)

She is not at all flashy or into glitz, prefers to dress in shorts, a tee and sandals, minimal makeup and jewelry. I will never understand why she felt the need to deface what was my ideal of beauty. Of course it is her body and her self esteem and I support her in whatever she wants to do, i just don't get it.

During her NBC television special “Victoria Beckham: Coming to America”, Posh might have unintentionally slipped up and referred to her having fake boobs. Posh was seen at a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game, throwing the first pitch. As she walks off the field, Posh was quite worried that her fast pitch might have dislodged her implants. Good thing though, Posh’s D-size rack remains intact.

"I really thought that one of my silicones was going to fly out of my armpit then," says Victoria to the camera. However, Posh managed to take back her word and said that her breasts are not really big in the flesh.

There are a bunch of 40 somethings in my neighborhood who all got implants together and one of them hugged me at a Christmas party and they were hard as a rock! Nothing at all like the reconstructed ones that are used after breast cancer surgery.

You can try to fool yourself that they really aren't that small but then your five-year-old daughter asks you if she'll have breasts when she grows up. You tell her yes and she says, "but you don't."

I thought about implants but then asked myself if I'd be interested in a man who needed/wanted a C. Fortunately, my husband was/has always been a leg man and I had good legs.

And my daughter, the one who asked if she'd have breasts when she grew up? She's grown up now and she has implants but within reason. They fit her small frame.

Abstract:
An increased rate of suicide among women with cosmetic breast
implants has been consistently reported in the epidemiologic
literature. We extended by 8 years the follow-up of our
earlier mortality study of a nationwide cohort of 3527 Swedish
women with cosmetic breast implants to examine in greater
detail suicide and other causes of death. The number of deaths
observed among these women was compared with the number
expected among the age- and calendar-period-matched general
female population of Sweden. Women with breast implants were
followed for over 65,000 person-years, with a mean follow-up
of 18.7 years (range, 0.1-37.8 years). Overall, 175 deaths
occurred among women with breast implants versus 133.4
expected (standardized mortality ratio (SMR) = 1.3; 95%
confidence interval [CI], 1.1-1.5). Among women with implants,
we observed statistically significant 3-fold excesses of
suicide (SMR, 3.0; 95% CI, 1.9-4.5) and deaths from alcohol or
drug dependence (SMR, 3.1; 95% CI, 1.0-7.3), as well as an
excess of deaths from accidents and injuries consistent with
substance abuse or dependence. The increased risk of suicide
was not apparent until 10 years after implantation. Deaths
from cancer overall were close to expectation (SMR, 1.1; 95%
CI, 0.8-1.4). Women with cosmetic implants had elevated SMRs
for lung cancer and chronic respiratory disease. There was no
excess of breast cancer mortality. The excess of deaths from
suicides, drug and alcohol abuse and dependence, and other
related causes suggests significant underlying psychiatric
morbidity among these women. Thus, screening for preimplant
psychiatric morbidity and postimplant monitoring among women
seeking cosmetic breast implants may be warranted.

59. Some reasons why the disdain for women with breast implants.

For men, most guys say it is "fake". I think there is a genetic dislike of women who try to appear younger than they really are because of childbearing etc.

For women, they resent having to compete with other women who do dangerous things (like surgery) to make themselves more attractive to men. It raises the stakes and leaves those who will not take the risks at a disadvantage (like every hating the kid in school who "wrecked the curve" by studying too much).


That said I have dated perfectly nice women with and without breast implants. I didn't tell them what to do with their bodies, unlike a lot of busybodies around here.

60. Your logic is flawed

You say that most guys say it's fake and there's a genetic dislike, etc. but then you say that women resent having to compete, etc.

You can't have it both ways - if guys don't like it, there's not real competition there.

For me, I've never resented having to "compete" with women who have silicone Tupperware dishes on their chests - I just think that 9 times out of 10 it looks bad and disproportionate.

In my experience guys express dislike for implants that are bad and obvious. Or implants on older women.

Women compete against each other. It is much more obvious when younger and single but that competition gene still exists. Many times older women enforce societal norms as typified by the older ladies tsk, tsking at each other over another woman's sexual trangression.
