Courney Love shocked my Amy Winehouse drug use.
I know, Amy who?

Courtney Love shocked at Amy Winehouse's drug use
The star says 'even I wasn't that bad'

Courtney Love has branded troubled singer Amy Winehouse the biggest drug user in music.

The former Hole singer - who has recently cleaned up after years of hedonistic behavior - admitted she was stunned when she saw with her own eyes how many drugs Winehouse imbibed, reports Hollywood.com.

She said: "I've never seen anyone take as much coke as Amy. Even I wasn't that bad."

Rehabbing "Rehab" singer Amy Winehouse was a bloody wreck this week when she violently vomited blood all over her Caribbean hotel room.

Staff at the Jade Mountain resort in St. Lucia were horrified when they were sent to Winehouse's suite to clean up the mess. "There was blood and vomit all over the bathroom, it was just terrible," said one worker, according to Brit tabloid The Mirror.

Train wreak, indeed.

1. Courtney is clean?
Finally? That makes me so sad, Francis Bean is what, 15 years old now?

And if she really is clean what is she doing sitting around watching Winehouse do coke.
I've read alot of interviews with Courtney and she always seems to downplay her addiction was well as everyone elses (including her band member that OD'd, who she says "wasn't a drug addict"), I don't know if I'd trust her to evaluate her own addiction, but her saying this about Winehouse is scary.

4. her career is going to be finished
blowing off rehab to go to the islands while her tour was canceled is the kiss of death for someone with one hit record.

5. if she didn't act bad, nobody would pay attention
that's the reality in today's media environment.

I wouldn't be surprised that this is all a big ruse made up by PR agents. They've been making up these rock and roll swindles for years and years.

6. sorry for being a thread killer
but really folks, the music and entertainment business is just as scripted, if not more, than the political business.

7. You think this is an act?
wow.

I don't think so. Lots of artists react badly initially fame. They're too young, They don't know how to handle it. Plus they are still dealing with the effects of whatever environments they came out of that caused them to turn to art in the first place.

This kid is looking to die. and she just might get her wish.

8. I would not be surprised
if it's an act. A lot of these stories are just that. Amazing eh? Corporate America is the king of duping its subjects.

13. I totally agree that publicists have promoted bad behaviour
(even staged bad behaviour) but if the girl is on the hard stuff- only a real scumbag would be promoting that. The hard stuff only leads to killing the golden goose.

15. Well, it wouldn't be the first time
that the suits started wagging the dog that they rode in on.

AW might very well be sitting on a train she can't stop right now. It's incredibly sad.

16. Most people, if they remember my fave rocker at all, remember
him for his notorious drug use and not for the fantastic rock-n-roll music he created. Not much sadder than that. This girl could be headed in the same direction.

14. oh I'm sure her PR is very well manufactured
I have no doubts about that.

But I think you're full of it to suggest that her drug problem is a manufactured story as well. In fact your lack of the grasp of nuance here, the concept that both things could be true 9(that plenty of people make $$ off her and that she has a substance abuse problem) is strange to me.

17. I'm not saying that it's not true
Edited on Sun Sep-02-07 01:20 PM by bedpanartist
I am saying, however, that I wouldn't be surprised that it's all being made up.

It is ALL THE TIME.

All of corporate culture is composed of bad actors. I mean really, if in reality she was just a plain jane housewife with a great voice, NOBODY would pay any attention to her. In our culture, the only people who get paid attention to are those who commit heinous acts. And having no attention is akin to having no career as a musician.

That being said, she's a pretty good singer. Whoever doing her musical arrangements is the real genius behind her though.
