So, could life just get a little more suckier?
Well, yesterday, we had to get our choco lab put down. I just now have come back (10:30 pm) from the vet and my cat, Zero (aka Fat Bastard) is dead. Yep. He basically had a heart attack. In a matter of an hour my cat died. WTF.

from this past spring.

note to all animals:

you may want to stay away from Maine-ah's home for a while as it seems to be cursed.

over and out. I think I'm gonna go to bed.

1. Oh, man, I am so sorry. That is the worst.
You know, I love cats, but can't have one owning me as I loved them so much when I was younger that I developed an allergy to cat dander.

Anyway, cats are so special. They understand so much about what is going on around them. My friend has several cats, and when one of them died, the others were depressed for about a week. Did Zero figure he didn't want to be alone without choco lab? It is so sad.

17. Thanks, Ilsa...
no, the cat and the dog were not friends. They got tossed together during their young adult life...though once and a while you might have caught them snuggled together, but not really, it would be more like "hey, our butts touching is purely coincidental"...."I was here first"....Zero was a 17lb beast of an orange cat.

I am really worried how this is all going to effect our other dog. She is now an only pet.

33. I love love love your nursing pic.
That is so very special.

And since you have another pet, uh-oh. Yes, I can see where it could be traumatic in some way.

2. oh nooooo
I'm so sorry!

How terrible to have to go through not one, but two deaths of cherished pets.

You were NOT a bad owner - as evidenced by the lives of your pets. So just STOP thinking that way!

Maybe your kitty just really missed his friend and decided it was time to join him.

12. I'm sorry. I know how it hurts. Perhaps this is heartless, but maybe
this was actually a better way. Neither of your pets had to miss the other and the rest of the family won't recover from one loss just to have to face another in a few months.

25. for Zero -- aka Fat Bastard...
Dear God, you have given us care over all living things; protect and bless the animals who give us companionship and delight, make us their true friends and worthy companions. Amen.

Dear God, protect and bless all beings that breathe, keep all evil from them, and let them sleep in peace. Amen.
--Albert Schweitzer, "Memoirs of Childhood and Youth"

Eternal Spirit, we bring you our grief in the loss of and ask for courage to bear it. We bring you our thanks for Zero who lived among us and gave us freely of his love. We commit our friend and companion Zero into your loving hands. Give us eyes to see how your love embraces all creatures and every living thing speaks to us of your love. Amen.

But to answer your question, yes...life can get a whole lot suckier and is for so many people. Perspective, I guess. Cherish what you do have, especially a beautiful new baby.
