slightly ot, but i (finally) saw ootp yesterday and thought of you when the trailer for the golden compass came on...i did not plug my ears or close my eyes, but i did giggle a bit ;)

i am apprehensive of how it's going to turn out but, of course, i will go see it

2. I really have to say

Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was just a BAD film. The first two Harry Potter films were pretty bad too.

I am NOT going to let some crappy hollywood director piss all over Golden Compass for me. No way, nohow.

but i agree with you about the first two harry potter films

i also was really pissed about some of the things they did with lotr

what i think is the biggest reason i want to see the golden compass is to see how they translate it visually. plus, i think there is one part that i think has been cast perfectly

His Dark Materials is my favorite series - even more than Potter (which I also love). I can't believe Nicole Kidman is Mrs. Coulter, but will give the movie a chance. The witches look awesome.
