I don't have any new art. But I start school tomorrow, so hopefully soon I'll be creating again.

My next castings will be hosta leaves and ornamental cabbage. I may even try leaves from the cornfield down the road. ;)

It's a nice diversion from my day job. :(

25. I have been off visiting my favorite aunt and uncle for the weekend.
It was incredibly boring but fun at the same time, and disturbing (age and health issues) but pleasant.

It's amazing how exhausting it can be to just sit and do nothing for 3 days.

27. That looks GREAT! You have to tell us how you finished it!
Is that all leaf-texture I'm seeing, or did you do
some faux woodgrain on it?

Me, I needed a break from the stuff I usually paint,
so I did this little 8x10 acrylic I call "Tourist":

28. Thanks!
it's all leaf texture picked up during casting. The concrete was sealed with poly and washed with burnt umber. I kept layering colors by drybrushing diluted colors. I sealed it again and applied gold metallic to get a more dimensional look.

If you're interested in the particular colors, I can look at the bottles tonight.

I like your painting. Folk art painting is one of my favorite styles.
