first, i screwed up my ankle
i was crossing the street and torqued it really bad.

then the dry cleaners failed to put the buttons on that i requested.

some idiot nearly got the shit slapped out of him for trying to right turn around someone already right turning onto a small sidestreet while i was in the intersection.

i discovered how much i really like green peppers.

one pixel on my display doesn't seem right.

i lost a whole toenail.

i checked out some books from the library.

turned my enrollment back on in school and got to go to class this week.

my id's are all turned on for everything.

i ate a really nice open-faced meatloaf sandwich smothered in chunky gravy.

i incessantly stare at the sky.

headshots in FPS games rock.

buses stink like humans. it's like a little canister of the odor of guts that people exhale. it makes me nauseated.

list some random minutiae of your life.

2. Tentatively opened one eye.
Decided to turn over and go back to sleep.

Slept a bit longer, until bladder alert (sorry if TMI).

Got up.

Started to go down hallway to building entrance to get the morning paper.

Discovered that the maintenance guy had been here on Labor Day (!!!), and had hung my newspaper from my doorknob.

Read the newspaper.

Ate breakfast.

Did some cleaning.

Left.

Bought a birthday gift for one of my great-nephews (not one of the triplets since I would buy for all three at once, but one of the others) and whose 9th birthday we celebrate on Saturday.

Headed south to North Riverside Mall and Michael's to get something framed (since they had a great half price framing sale going on).

Was annoyed at the lack of parking because Best Buy evidently was packed.

Went to Poor Phil's for lunch. Inside, it was steamy today.

Back home.

Finished damn creepy novel

Finished cooking what I will eat for dinner for the next several nights.

Watched news.

Ate leftover Thai food from Saturday evening delivery.

Surfed DU.

Took bath, washed hair.

Posted this.

Seriesly, I hope your ankle feels better. I have done bad things to both of mine more times than I can remember.

4. Friday: cast a baleful eye at the clock.
Got up, surfed DU, drank orange juice, ate a piece of coffee cake.

Went back to bed.

Cast yet another baleful eye at the clock.

Got up, got dressed and left for work.

Left work at 1 -- a summer hours half day! Last one of the season. :evilfrown:

Came home.

Did a load of laundry.

Surfed DU.

Went out to dinner at restaurant near train tracks with Metro, the el and freight trains through the very near western suburbs.

Checked out trains. The el must truly suck, because I was at the end of the Lake Street el line and saw more Metra trains than els, and the els have to switch tracks around here.

Got an oak mite bite. Damn thing itches like hell and they last for a while.

Came home, took bath, washed hair, surfed DU some more.

Oh, drank an adult beverage or two.

Went to bed.

7. Half day on Fridays, every other week.
It used to be every summer Friday, but they changed it.

We liked it much better the old way.

6. My exciting existence
I was pleased to actually get out of bed before 10am this morning.

Drug are good. Very very good.

Cat pee smell is damn hard to get rid of.

I don't care if that last sentence was poorly written.

I'm getting old, my body tells me so.

Comforters that are dried in the sun and breeze smell heavenly.

Nothing tastes as good as a freshly picked tomato with salt.

My dogs shed. A LOT.

I spent the last week thinking that my daughter starts school tomorrow. She doesn't.

I, however, do.

What the hell was I thinking? Going back to school...for Fine Arts, no less!

I should be putting the kids to bed now. I also have a huge basket full of clothes that need folding.

I need a slave name.

I think that was a very un-PC thing to say.

I stare at nothing often.

My fantasy life is much more fulfilling than my reality.

Wine is good. Vodka is better.

I can put my leg behind my head.

Pilates is the only form of exercise I enjoy.

I'm basically a very lazy person. Today I wasn't.

8. My cat likes to sit on the router. It's warm.
I can hear the AC fan blowing.

WHEN is it going to cool off, fer Chrissake. It's supposed to be in the mid and aupper 90's this week. Damn.

I wish I had some ice cream. My husband nabbed the last of the Moose Tracks.

Working tomorrow. Meh. The first day back is always the worst. Hard to get out of bed.

Cat piss smell IS really hard to get rid of. Very good point. Box needs emptying.

I think my cold is almost gone.

I've been thinking about whether to volunteer for the Edwards campaign or not. I should do it.

Where do people find time to do stuff like that?

What if they want me to TALK to people, like door to door or something? Yuck. Maybe I can stuff envelopes or something.

9. And best of luck on going back to school.
Despite torquing your ankle, the move back to Chicago seems to be good for you.
