What's your personal flashback trigger?
Mine is Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon- the reason being I was listening to this album the very first time I got absolutely completely stoned on grass. It was a frightening and enlightening moment- it was my second genuine philosophical breakthrough event.

I happened to be wearing stereo headphones at the time- the sudden rush made me feel like I was being dragged through a black hole.

I took my first step into a much larger universe at that moment.

Every time I hear Dark Side Of The Moon I flash back to 1974.

1. I don't have flashbacks. I have cringe moments
They could be triggered by a song or a phrase or a picture that reminds of some dumb thing I did when I was younger. I try to live in the moment as much as possible.

3. People yelling. I jumped awake one morning at 5 a.m. after
hearing the sweet retired school teacher next door, who I thought lived alone, holler
"SHUUTT UP! JUST SSHHHUUUTTT UUUPPP!!!" Then dead silence. But I couldn't go back to sleep, and kept looking out the window to see if a body was going to be stuffed in the car trunk....

4. Almost any cartoon show from 1965-69,
as well as 30% of the evening prime-time programs and about 50% of the Top 100 hits from that era. That was a pretty good time for me.

6. My dad and one of his countless digs at me
over my weight or politics, or whatever came to mind. It would be great to have a happy flashback about something for a change.

7. I'm like that with Boston's More Than a Feeling
It's one of those songs that I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it. It was a good time in my life and brings back really nice memories.

And I must say, Dark Side is an excellent thing to have over headphones the first time you get really wasted on grass.
