Book recommendations--National Security State?
I have been devouring myriad essays by Gore Vidal that focus on America's devolution from republic to empire, specifically when Harry "Worst President of the 20th century" Truman presided over the creation of the National Security State.

Are there any good books that chronicle this juncture in our history?

You've read 'Dreaming War' and 'Perpetual War for Perpetual Peace' by Vidal.

2. John Loftus - The Secret War Against the Jews" is an absolute primer
I highly recommend it to anyone.

John is a staunch supporter of "liberal" Israel. But he ties in the Bushes, the antisemites, the Saudis, the oil companies and Hitler's backers, etc in to a clear packega. He had very high clearance, researched the archives with that clearance and it is very scary.

Loftus' final analysis { to antisemities and fascists in power we (US citizens) are ALL Jews.

Must read it. Mandatory for all.

I doi not ALWAYS 100% agree with John. I have intereviewed him. But he has a LOT of data and has done his homework.

3. Chalmers Johnson, "Blowback"
is absolutely a must-read on US foreign policy in the post war era. IT's great, Johnson was an insider, true believer, until he actually started seeing the realities... Great stuff and a good read too.
