We have had several power outages here in the past 36 hours. A couple of them lasting over two hours (one this morning that lasted 2-1/2 hours).

My house has not cooled since last Thursday. And we have another 100 degree day with high humidity on tap.

:banghead:

1. Welcome to California!
Wait until it starts raining. I lived in Vermont for 38 years - rain, ice, snow, sleet, hail, lightning, you name it and I never, EVER lost power for longer than 3 days.

Out here, it will rain and the power will go out for a week and a half. Cracks me up.

Strange place but pretty. :hi:

2. Very strange place!
I can't sleep when it is hot, so I am not in the best of moods.

3. Oooh, KW!

My sis called me yesterday to make sure we still had electricity. We did...have LADWP, not SoCal Ed...but our a/c was NOT keeping up either. Thermostat read 85 nearly all weekend. UGH.

I hope they get the problem solved soon...thankfully, it sounds like if we make it through today, it's a downhill slide back to normalcy. ;)

5. It is, and that's so weird!
I've been here almost 2 years and this is the first time I've experienced humidity here. And of *course* it has to go hand-in-hand with triple digit temps. x(

Last summer was ridiculously hot, but it was desert-esque. And that was so much easier to deal with. But you know it's humid when we midwesterners are complaining!
