I got an email from the "IRS" today.

The email told me that I had a refund of $109.30 coming to me. All I needed to do was to supply my Debit Card number, name and SS number...and I'd get $109.30 in a week!

I called the real IRS and told them about it. Apparently, they never, ever, ever, send emails to individuals. I forwarded that email and they were appreciative.

That was my good deed for today. Yay, me.

I looked up the anti-phishing info on the IRS site and sent them a copy.
I don't understand exactly how phishing attempts work but who would try that crap with the IRS?
Since the Monster site was hacked I've been getting a lot of phishing attempts on that email address. Maybe it's related?
