Quick, pour me something 100 proof.
I thought I'd do my kids a favor by having their father over for his birthday. I made his favorite meal & dessert, and supplied cards and presents from everybody. On the surface all went well but by the second hour we both were so ANGRY and STRESSED that the kids scattered. We didn't fight or anything, but apparently everything I do pisses him off, and everything he does has the same effect on me. On the one hand it's kinda sad but on the other I am reminded with a force the strength of Felix that this divorce is SO the right thing. For both of us.

So, cheers! I took my final today, got the dinner party over with and now I'm just kicking back waiting to hear from CaliforniaPeggy. :toast:

How's tricks, Lounge?

I do know for certain that my taste for orange crush and root beer was forever destroyed by mixing it with everclear. I still like Fresca, though! :hi:

9. Eh, it went as well as could be expected.
It wasn't much different when we actually lived together. The test? I think I did well but it was half short essay and half filling out forms (insurance forms Woohoo!) and it must be hand-graded. I'll find out the final grade on Thursday. Only one more course to go! I'm pleased. :)

Then an externship, and THEN a job! I can't wait to be employed, seriously. I've done as much needlepoint, embroidery, knitting, decorating, cleaning, cooking and otherwise expressing myself to last a LIFETIME. I want money!

since the Spring. It starts in October, I believe, and will expose me to a bunch of different office environments. I like the idea because my resume is blank, but when people see me in person and watch me work, I tend to get the job.

Watch it be different this time. :(

David called me a few minutes ago, playing my favorite song "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (sung by Roberta Flack) in the background "to soothe my ruffled spirits" he said. It worked. Or it could be the wine :P

19. How 'bout 120+ proof?
Booker's Bourbon is the only bourbon bottled straight from the barrel, uncut and unfiltered. It was originally created by Booker Noe, grandson of Jim Beam, and master distiller. The bourbon is bottled at its natural proof of between 121 and 127, and aged between six and eight years. Each barrel that will become Booker's bourbon is aged in the very center of the rackhouse where the temperature and humidity combines in the perfect proportion for the finest bourbon. It has a smoky amber color and an oaky scent with vanilla notes making it a lovely winter warmer. Booker's sells for around $50.

25. You need to know how to do it
Edited on Tue Sep-04-07 08:20 PM by jgraz
Only an idiot or a masochist would slam this stuff in one gulp. You'd be breathing fire for hours.

You take a sip onto the front of your tongue, close your mouth and tilt your head slightly forward. Use your tongue to press the whiskey into the back of your front teeth.

Then tilt your head slightly back and let the whiskey trickle over the sides of your tongue into the bottom of your mouth. Scoop your tongue into the whiskey and swallow.

You get all the rich tastes of the bourbon with none of the burn. It also keeps you from getting totally shitfaced too quickly. ;)

Enjoy.

Edit: wow, that was nice. Time for another.

Sounds like a wicked stressful evening.

How's tricks? Hmmmmm. I've been going flat out for a week and the baby spends every night kicking me in the head non stop. Best sleep I had was when I went to go sleep on the rug in the living room. Still, we've been having fun. And the hot weather's over so I'm psyched for cool fall 70's!!!

Living here has altered my ability to withstand heat!

Right now the baby is kicking you in the head... in twenty minutes you wiill be sending him off to high school like I did this morning. No doubt everybody you meet tells you to savor these young years. I won't say the same thing, but I will tell you to treat the little lad with love and respect, because he will remember... :P

Life's good. The kids are at school, I'm almost done with my schooling, I'm still dating the repuke and it's going astonishingly well.

You? When are you and the family coming up to Bangor? heh. I know: never. :hi:

47. So said the woman at the grocery checkout.
He didn't expect it: it's for the kids. As I was building his cake my seven year old asked me if I though I was going to "break my marriage with Daddy." I answered him but I was evasive, and I told him that if we did break the marriage that he would notice no difference in his life, except perhaps that his daddy would have a girlfriend. He already knows that David is my "boyfriend" and likes him well enough to tell him that he needn't try to impress!

Point being, it's all about the kids. If I didn't have any children C & I would be over, completely. As things stand I am a bit proud of how we've handled the transisiton. No worries: all Hell will break out in time, I'm sure.
